Not so much for others. The Winklevoss brothers win; we lose. Why would this strategy make sense to Norton, a security software company? Despite dubiously claiming that Norton Crypto is a security-focused product, Norton may simply be offering this product to open new revenue streams for the company. After a year ascent, the independent anti-virus software industry could be obsolete within a few years.

As with many important tools, antivirus shields are being built into our machine operating systems now, so Apple, Google and Microsoft will be providing acceptable anti-virus protection to most personal computer purchases. People might not need it so much anymore, and in some edge cases, it could pose some risks for users. Maybe this is a sensible play for a formerly ascendant company desperate for a second act. Norton is now in the Ethereum mining business and it wants your computer to participate.

Excessive ads even with a Deluxe subscription. I purchased Norton Deluxe with Lifelock a little over a year ago. As far as it's protection, it is a great product. Though I do have a big issue with their service, this is their constant ads.

I turned off my popups in windows so it stops notifying me but that is an annoyance on a paid product to be loaded with ads. Now they want me to use my computer's idle time for money. Well if they just had 1 banner ad and then let me close out that, it woul Show More d be fine. Nope, now when I open up Norton to look at it there is a giant banner on top causing me to scroll through to get the the services I need.

Why not make this closeable? Again, I am paying for this, enough with the ads. Guess what? Again with ads Again, I should be able to close this, there is a service behind this and I cannot access it because this ad is blocking it. Literally blocking the product I have paid for. They have seriously blocked me from using a paid product by a stack of 6 ads for other services I might want. I buy antivirus for the obvious protection. I run a small business and I need my stuff secure, I need financials safe, I need to know that my customer's information is safe, I need to be able to communicate safely and reliably with customers so my phone and computer must have protection so I don't lose everything.

I completely understand Norton having better options, having other services available to me if needed. They are a great product and have ways to make it better. What I think they should do instead of keeping constant banners and ads and popups is have a selectable option Need Something Else? Hell, having 1 banner or ad pop up roughly once a month that had a little "x" on it which I could close to not see again would be fine. That is what other services do. But this constant annoyance has brought me here, to knock their otherwise great product, because I feel if enough people know and share their negative experience Norton will hopefully change this to something a little less undesirable.

I have literally wasted 30 minutes because of my annoyance, thank you Norton. I initially posted this elsewhere, just wanted to expand potential views of my post. VERY Unethical company. If I could give them NO stars I would. Had heard so many great things about Norton thought I'd give it a try. Installed the free trial they offered. It would not work. Could not get it to even open. Kept getting messages that it could not "connect".

Uninstalled and re-installed it after making sure all remnants of previous install was removed. Sat on phone NO ONE answered. No response to multiple emails. Finally removed it from my system. Show More has expired. My email address had to come from Norton. It was an email that I seldom used and then ONLY for personal correspondence with three 3 family members. To this day the only consistent spam email I get at that email address is regarding Norton.

Makes me believe this company, that brags about how secure our personal information entrusted to them, is selling our email address. Would never trust them again. Will never allow them near any personal information again Denis Desautels J. I too, had a very bad experience with Norton with LifeLock.
